'Courage'- Billy Barker V.C.

Billy Barker was and is Canada's most decorated serviceman ever. He fought in WW1 as an ace pilot flying his trusty Sopwith Camel on enumerable missions, with many medals & records to his credit. This bronze commemorate's him as a symbol representing 'Courage' for the City of Dauphin, Manitoba, his hometown. To me, courage is most greatly expressed as foreknowledge- awareness of the overwhelming odds of the challenge that lay ahead; yet carrying on undaunted. As he looks up from the mission map, he see the challenge in front of him and musters the fortitude required to overcome.
